Transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURB) is a standard method for treatment and diagnosis of non-muscle invasive bladder tumor. However, early recurrence rates after TURB is relatively high, 15% in a single tumor, and up to 45% in multiple tumors, which do not seem to be acceptable. These high recurrence rates may be caused by incomplete tumor resection, aggressive tumor biology, or implantation of tumor cells shed during surgery. Herein, we investigated the ways to improve the outcomes of TURB. (Korean J Urol Oncol 2010;8:23-26)
